What is happening

Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are living through violence, displacement, restrictions on movement and the destruction of homes, hospitals, schools and public infrastructure.

In Gaza, many people have been forced from their homes again and again. Families are trying to survive without reliable access to clean water, food, sanitation, electricity, medicine or safe shelter.

In the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, people face military raids, demolitions, displacement, settler violence and restrictions that can prevent them from reaching work, school, hospitals and farmland.

Behind every report or statistic are people trying to protect their families, care for children, find medicine and make it through another day.

Why aid matters

Aid can mean a family receiving food, a hospital getting medicine, a child being treated, or someone finding clean water and shelter after being displaced.

It also means helping people keep some dignity and stability while so much around them has been taken away or made uncertain.

• Mental-health and family support
• Care for pregnant and nursing mothers

How you can help

Not everyone can donate, and that does not mean you are powerless. Sharing a campaign, reading reliable information and helping other people understand what is happening can still matter.

1. Donate through an established humanitarian organization.
2. Support a Palestinian-led grassroots or mutual-aid project.
3. Donate directly to a family after reading and checking their campaign.
4. Share family fundraisers when you are unable to donate.
5. Check the date and source before reposting reports, images or statistics.
6. Keep supporting long-term health care, education, shelter and rebuilding.

Large humanitarian organizations

Larger organizations can support hospitals, food distribution, water systems, shelters and other work that needs more staff, supplies and coordination.

They are not the only way to help, but their size can allow them to support services that smaller groups cannot manage alone.

Large organizations and grassroots projects do different kinds of work. Supporting one does not make the others less important.

Grassroots and mutual aid

Grassroots projects often have closer contact with Palestinian organizers and local teams inside Gaza. They may be able to respond to urgent needs that are too small, too specific or too immediate for a large organization.

Their funding and donation methods can change quickly, so read their latest posts before contributing.

Smaller projects often work independently. Check their latest updates, donation drives and financial information before donating.

Donate directly to families

A direct family fundraiser can help with food, medicine, shelter, transport, treatment, evacuation or rebuilding after displacement.

These campaigns are personal. They are often written by the family or by someone helping them reach people outside Gaza.

Sharing a campaign can matter too. It may help the family reach someone who is able to donate.

Before donating or sharing

• Read the full campaign and its newest updates.
• Check who created the page and how they know the family.
• Look for consistent names, images and information.
• Check whether the campaign explains how the funds will be used.
• Share the original campaign link instead of a screenshot.
• Do not share private information the family has not made public.
• Remember that needs and campaign details may change.

Explore and educate yourself

Helping also means learning. Palestine should not only be spoken about through headlines, numbers or moments of crisis.
